Baked Apple French Toast

  • 8 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 8-oz. containter cream cheese
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 2 T lemon juice
  • 10 slices white bread
  • 2 ½ T granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup apples, peeled, cored, chopped
  • powdered sugar

Combine granulated sugar with cinnamon. In a bowl toss fruit with lemon juice and cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Grease 9 x 12 casserole dish. Cube bread and place half in dish. Spread apples over, and top with rest of bread.

Beat together cream cheese, eggs, syrup, and vanilla. Pour over bread, and allow to sit overnight.

Bake in a 375 degree oven for 1 hour, until puffed and browned. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup.

Serves 8-10.
